San Diego State Working Hardest for 2019 Boogie Ellis

By JACOB POLACHECK

Torrey Pines, CA – Rejean “Boogie” Ellis, the 6-foot-2 point guard from Mission Bay (CA) High School, told ZAGSBLOG on Tuesday that San Diego State is currently recruiting him the hardest.

“I’d say SDSU is recruiting me the hardest,” said Ellis. “It’s my hometown school.”

Ellis currently holds offers from San Diego State, Eastern Washington, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, San Diego, and Tulane.

On Tuesday at the Torrey Pines Holiday Classic, Ellis finished with six points in a 50-62 loss against La Jolla Country Day (CA) School.

“I think I could’ve played better,” said Ellis on Tuesday’s game. “We’ll come back stronger and get back in the gym. I have trust in my game and I know we’ll bounce back.”

With no upcoming visits planned, Ellis is currently looking to boost his stock during this tournament, as he said, “I’m trying to prove that I’m a high-major player in my decision making. As a team, we’re just trying to go harder.”

As a junior, Ellis is already well into the recruiting process. He spoke about what he’s looking for in a school when deciding where to commit, as he said, “I just want to play against the best competition and get better.”
