Recruitment heating up for 2019 point guard Jalen Gaffney

Recruiting is heating up for Class of 2019 point guard Jalen Gaffney of Team Rio and the Westtown (PA) School.

The 6-foot New Jersey native is ranked the No. 44 point guard in the Class of 2019 per 247Sports.com.

After playing in New Jersey this Saturday, Florida is expected to watch Gaffney on Sunday. UConn, St. John’s and Xavier are also chasing Gaffney, who excelled last weekend at the PSA Cardinals Showcase in front of a number of college coaches.

“Jalen Gaffney is one of a select few players that you find each year that once his body matures and catches up to his game (skills and athleticism), the basketball world asks where did this kid come from?” said Team Rio coach Mike Rice. “He’s a great decision-maker with Russell Westbrook like athleticism.”
