Jordan Brown, the 6-foot-10 power forward from Prolific Prep (CA), took his official visit to UCLA this past weekend one week after he visited St. John’s.

“It went well,” said Dion Brown, the player’s father. “The campus itself was nice. The coaches were great and made us feel comfortable and welcome. We got to see practices, the same as when we went to St. John’s. The team looked pretty impressive.

“Jordan kind of knows a couple of guys on the team, Jaylen Hands, Jalen Hill he played with at USA [Basketball]. Jello Ball and everything, so he hung out with those guys, they made him feel pretty comfortable. It was pretty good.”

Meantime, St. John’s assistant Greg St. Jean was slated to watch Jordan on Wednesday at Prolific Prep.

Anthony Nelson, the 6-foot-4, 175-pound Class of 2018 point guard from the NY Lightning and South Kent (CT), committed to Seton Hall on Tuesday night.

Nelson also considered Dayton and Minnesota.

“I picked Seton Hall because I wanted to be close to home and I felt like it was a good situation for me,” he told ZAGSBLOG.”

Nelson will have a chance to learn from two former point guards in head coach Kevin Willard and associate head coach Shaheen Holloway. He will enter Seton Hall after they lose senior point guard Khadeen Carrington and will compete with current freshman Jordan Walker for time at the point.

Khalid Moore, the 6-foot-8, 190-pound Class of 2018 wing from Archbishop Molloy High School and the NY Rens, committed to Georgia Tech on Tuesday following an official visit this weekend.

He also considered Seton Hall. Moore also held offers from Pittsburgh, Oklahoma State, UMass, Miami, Syracuse, Virginia, St. John’s, Rutgers, Rhode Island and VCU.

“I felt that they would make me better as a player and person,” he told ZAGSBLOG. “they play at a high level of competition and have a good academic program I can rely on.”

As for Georgia Tech, head coach Josh Pastner has made inroads in New York City, landing former Christ the King point guard Jose Alvarado a year ago. He joins Montverde (FL) Academy point guard Mike Devoe and Norwegian small forward Kristian Sjolund in this year’s class.
