Immanuel Quickley, Luther Muhammad poised to announce on Friday

Two big-time Class of 2018 guards will come off the board on Friday: Immanuel Quickley and Luther Muhammad.

Quickley, the No. 12 player in the 2018 ESPN 100, will announce at 6 p.m. Quickley is down to Kentucky, Kansas and Miami but never ended up visiting Miami because of Hurricane Irma.

Quickley played for Kentucky coach John Calipari on the USA U19 team this summer, and Kentucky is considered the favorite.

“You just have to sit back and smile,” he told CSN Mid-Atlantic in August of first hearing from Kentucky. “It definitely was cool to have coach Calipari reach out to me.”

Meantime, the 6-4 Muhammad will announce at 8 p.m. Muhammad lists a top five of Ohio State, Xavier, St. John’s, Virginia and West Virginia. Ranked No. 94 by ESPN.com, Muhammad has visited the first four but did not trip to West Virginia this weekend as originally planned.

Muhammad averaged 11.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 7 games on the EYBL circuit this summer with the NY Rens.

He will become the third player on his Hudson Catholic team to commit, following small forward Louis King, who announced Thursday evening for Oregon, and point guard Jahvon Quinerly, who picked Arizona in August.
