Naz Reid, the 6-foot-10 power forward from Roselle Catholic (N.J.) and the Sports U AAU program, has verbally committed to LSU and head coach Will Wade.
“I chose LSU because it fits my style of play,” Reid told ESPN. “I feel as if I’m home when I’m around the coaching staff and players.”
A four-star prospect in the 2018 class, Reid took an official visit to Baton Rouge and two recent unofficial visits.
“Naz is going to be a great fit at LSU,” Roselle Catholic head coach Dave Boff told ZAGSBLOG. “Their coaching staff believes they can help him continue his development and also believe they will play a style that will showcase his unique skill set.”
Reid was down to Arizona and LSU but canceled his visit to Tuscon which made a future commitment to the Tigers evident.
“Nazi will be a great addition to the LSU Tiger program,” Sports U coach Brian Coleman told ZAGSBLOG. “His size and versatility will be something to watch in the SEC. The LSU fans were treated to Ben Simmons for a season now they’ll be treated to Naz Reid and Javonte Smart. Should be very exciting. I’m very proud of Nazi. I believe he’ll make an immediate impact down there.”
Reid is the second member of the 2018 LSU class along with four-star combo guard Javonte Smart.
According to 247Sports, Reid is the No. 15 recruit in the class of 2018 and the No. 1 player in the state of New Jersey.
