Josh Roberts, the 6-foot-9, 201-pound big man from Montverde (FL) Academy, took his first official to St. John’s on Sept. 1-3.
“I liked it a lot,” Roberts told ZAGSBLOG about the visit. “New York is just an amazing city to be in, and I really enjoyed it.”
As for St. John’s, Roberts is one of their top targets in 2018 along with Archbishop Molloy big man Moses Brown and Hudson Catholic shooting guard Luther Muhammad.
“The staff thinks I can come in and have a big impact as a freshman,” Roberts said about his potential role for the Red Storm.
Ranked the No. 86 small forward in the Class of 2018 by 247Sports.com, Roberts listed Auburn, Florida Gulf Coast, Troy and Wichita State as the other schools recruiting him the hardest. But, other high-major schools have been starting to reach out to him.
“Auburn and I talked to South Carolina last week,” Roberts said. As for visits, Roberts is not certain where he’ll go next or if he will visit any other schools. “Maybe 1 or 2 more but I’m not 100% sure though,” Roberts told ZAGSBLOG.
