Wendell Moore attracting slew of high-major coaches

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Wendell Moore, the 6-foot-6 Class of 2019 small forward from CP3 and Concord (N.C.) Cox Mill, had a slew of high-major coaches watching him last weekend at Peach Jam.

On Saturday, Kentucky was two deep with John Calipari and Kenny Payne, North Carolina had Roy Williams and Hubert Davis, Wake Forest had Danny Manning and Duke Jon Scheyer.

“I look at them every now and then,” he said. “I may take a quick peak but other than that I’m just here to play the game.”

He has visited Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina unofficially.

“Kentucky’s obviously Kentucky,”  he said. :I mean, they’re known for one-and-dones. They’re just a great school.

“I mean, all three of them, Carolina and Duke, they’re probably three of the top five schools in the country, sending guys to the league. They’re all great schools.”

He listed UNC, Wake Forest, Maryland, South Carolina, Florida State, Kentucky and Kansas as the schools recruiting him the hardest.

“I plan to visit South Carolina sometime, Maryland and Wake Forest again,” he said. “And Florida State, too.”
