Immanuel Quickley, the 6-foot-3 point guard from John Carroll (MD) School, has set three official visits.
Quickley told ZAGSBLOG he will visit Kansas (Sept. 1-3), Miami (Sept. 8-10) and Kentucky (Sept. 15-17).
Quickley, who won a bronze medal with the USA U19 team under head coach John Calipari at the FIBA U19 World Cup is on record with Evan Daniels of Scout.com on saying that “Kentucky is definitely the favorite” in his recruitment.
He also spoke in detail about the Kentucky Wildcats with Kyle Tucker of SEC Country recently. “It really means everything, because you don’t want to go somewhere the players haven’t been successful in the same position,” said Quickley, whose goal in Team USA camp was to show Calipari “that if I were to go to Kentucky, I could carry the torch for whatever point guard I come after.”
According to 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions, Kentucky has a 100 percent to land Quickley, with 13 experts all predictting the Wildcats to be his choice. He is ranked as the No. 10 overall player in the Class of 2018 and No. 2 point guard.“What they’ve done with their players, that does give them an advantage,” said Quickley.
After cutting his list to Kentucky, Kansas, Maryland, and Miami recently, Quickley has said that he will make his college decision prior to the start of his senior season.
Meantime, Zion Williamson, the No. 2-ranked player in 2018 per ESPN.com, has said he wants to play college ball with Quickley.
“Zion wants to play with me, I guess,” he told ZAGSBLOG. “We’re good friends.”
