Markquis Nowell to The Patrick School

After winning the New Jersey Tournament of Champions title and losing six seniors to Division 1 programs, The Patrick School continues to reload.

Markquis Nowell, the 5-foot-8 point guard from Brooklyn Bishop Loughlin, is enrolled at the Hillside N.J., school and is playing summer league with the Celtics.

Nowell had originally decided to spend his senior season playing for former St. Pat’s head coach Kevin Boyle at Montverde (FL) Academy, but will now play for Chris Chavannes and Mike Rice.

The Patrick School previously added Atiba Taylor, the 6-foot-3 combo guard from Hackensack (N.J.) High and the Sports U AAU program, and 6-10 senior Giorgi Bezhanishvili of Austria.

The program also returns rising senior forward Valdir Manuel and rising junior guard Al-Amir Dawes, both of whom will be heavily recruited beginning this week at the Peach Jam.

The Patrick School sent six players to D-1 programs last year: Walker, Nick Richards (Kentucky), Jamir Harris (Minnesota), Marcus McClary (Monmouth), Buay Koka and Bul Ajang (Tulane).
