Taeshon Cherry, the 6-foot-8 power forward from Saint Augustine (CA) High School, announced his commitment to USC on Friday via Twitter.
Cherry chose USC over Oregon, San Diego State, Texas A&M, Gonzaga, and Arizona. He took an unofficial visit to Texas A&M last year (Oct. 7) and two unofficial visits to UCLA earlier this year (Jan. 21 and Feb. 9).
He joins J’Raan Brooks, who committed to USC earlier this week, as the second commit in USC’s 2018 class.
“Coach (Andy) Enfield have been recruiting me since ninth grade,” Cherry told D1Vision.com at the Nike EYBL fourth session in Los Angeles last month. “They’re big for me because their style of play is just running up and down. They get guys to the league.”
Cherry originally said he wanted to take official visits in the fall but that is no longer the case. He is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 40 overall player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 5 player from the state of California.
