J’Raan Brooks, the 6-foot-8 power forward from Garfield (WA) High School, announced his commitment to Andy Enfield and the USC Trojans on Monday via Twitter.
“Thankful for all the coaches and schools that recruited me over the past 3 years,” Brooks said via Twitter. “But I’m headed to LA! Fight on.”
Brooks chose USC over Virginia, Stanford, Oklahoma, and California after cutting his list last week. USC is also targeting 2018 Taeshon Cherry who is set to make his college decision on Friday. Brooks had an official for USC set for later this year (Sept. 2).
On the adidas circuit, Brooks has averaged 15.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in eight games, leading Dream Vision to a 5-3 record.
Brooks is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 87 player in the Class of 2018 and the No. 3 player from the state of Washington. He is the first commit in USC’s 2018 class.
