Kofi Cockburn, a 6-10 sophomore at Christ the King (NY), continues to pick up high-major interest.
Duke head man Mike Krzyzewski called Cockburn to let him know he will be following him during July, NY Rens coach Karriem Memminger said.
UCLA, Kansas and South Carolina previously reached out last week.
The Christ the King big man already holds offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Creighton, Florida State, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Indiana, LSU, Miami, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Providence, Rhode Island, Rutgers, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Syracuse, TCU and UNLV.
He has interest from Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, Maryland and Villanova.
“He has huge upside,” Memminger said. “He’s a throw-back big who can play with his back to the basket and can score in the post. He likes to play through contact. His favorite players are DeMarcus Cousins, Andre Drummond and Amar’e Stoudemire.
“Everybody wants him,” Royals’ head coach Joe Arbitello said earlier this year. “They’ll start calling at the end of the year, they’ll come in, they’ll see him. That’s when they’ll start to make their major push for him.”
With the score tied at 50, this ferocious dunk by Kofi Cockburn with 2:33 left in the game put Christ the King up for good against Wings. pic.twitter.com/IdcZIKoWN5
