Following a visit to Rutgers this week, Myles Johnson committed to the school on Sunday.
The 6-foot-10, 250-pound Johnson out of Long Beach Poly (CA) chose Rutgers over Hawaii and Georgia Tech.

Rutgers assistant Jay Young recruited Johnson, a three-star prospect per Scout.com, to add depth to the frontcourt.
“The visit was good,” Johnson said. “I got to see two of the campuses and met all the coaching staff as well as two players and their message was that their school offers top of the line academics as well as top of the line basketball being in the Big 10.”
Johnson hopes to make an impact soon.
“My skill set is being able to pass the ball very well and being a rim protector as well a great pick-setter and pick and roll/pop offensive player,” he said.
Johnson joins high school point guard Geo Baker and junior college point guard Souf Mensah in Coach Steve Pikiell’s 2017 class.

Thank you to all the schools that recruited me in this process. But I’m proud to be apart of @CoachMattMcCall and @UMassBasketball family?⚪️
