Looking for Another Guard, Georgia Tech Meets With Blake Harris

After cutting his list to five schools, Word of God (N.C.) Academy point guard and former Washington commit Blake Harris met Thursday with Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner.

Georgia Tech is losing its starting backcourt and needs another guard to join Christ the King floor general Jose Alvarado, who dedicated this season to his late grandmother. Sources said Georgia Tech is still devoted to Alvarado.

Pastner, meantime, is also targeting in-state wing Jordan Tucker of Marietta (GA) Wheeler, who will visit Syracuse, Oregon and Georgia Tech before making a decision.

Harris previously cut his list to Michigan State, Missouri, N.C. State, UConn and Rutgers but said he would be open to other schools entering the mix.

UConn and point guard Makai Ashton-Langford parted ways during an offseason in which the Huskies also saw three players transfer, so head coach Kevin Ollie and staff are in the market for a Class of 2017 point guard.

Harris is set to visit Mizzou this weekend before taking visits to Michigan State, UConn and Rutgers.
