The Golden State Warriors are still favored to win the NBA championship despite the injury to Kevin Durant, per Bovada.
“Even though Durant’s injury may be a major one, the fact that the Warriors were favorites last year without him is the reason Durant’s injury does not affect their Championship odds that much,” said Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager for Bovada.lov. “Plus, with the strong possibility of Durant returning for the playoffs, the odds only went from -175 to -150 and the Warriors are still the clear favorites. If he were on any other team aside from the Cavaliers, those odds would have dropped drastically.”
The Warriors’ current odds to win it all are 2/3, while LeBron James and the defending champion Cavaliers are at 3/1.
The Warriors announced Wednesday that Durant suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and a tibial bone bruise on Tuesday night and would be reevaluated in four weeks.
Meantime, James Harden of the Houston Rockets and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder remain co-favorites to win NBA MVP honors at 10/11.
