Eight Teams Named for DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals

Eight teams were named for the DICK’S Sporting Goods High School Nationals at Christ the King High School March 30-April 1.

The quarterfinals will be shown on ESPNU, the semifinals on ESPN2 and the championship game on ESPN.

Per USA Today, here is schedule:

Quarterfinals

Thursday

Game 1: No. 3 Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) vs. No. 6 Shadow Mountain (Phoenix), noon

Game 2: No. 4 Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) vs. No. 5 Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), 2 p.m.

Game 3: No. 2 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) vs. No. 7 Greensboro Day (Greensboro, N.C.), 4 p.m.

Game 4: No. 1 La Lumiere (La Porte, Ind.) vs. No. 8 Wasatch Academy (Mouth Pleasant, Utah), Noon

 

Semifinals

Friday

w/o Game 1 vs. w/o Game 3, 5 p.m.

w/o Game 2 vs. w/o Game 4, 7 p.m.

 

Final

Saturday

Noon

 

Nathan Hale (Seattle, WA), which features 6-10 senior Michael Porter Jr., is the No. 1 team in the USA Today poll but opted not to participate in the event after winning a state championship.

The event features five McDonald’s All-Americans who will compete in the McDonald’s All-American Game March 29 in Chicago, including La Lumiere’s Brian Bowen (uncommitted) and Jaren Jackson (Michigan State); Findlay Prep’s P.J. Washington (Kentucky); IMG Academy’s Trevon Duval (uncommitted) and Oak Hill’s Billy Preston (Kansas).
