Kentucky coach John Calipari, Louisville coach Rick Pitino and Rutgers coach Steve Pikiell will be among the coaches on hand at the Primetime Shoot on Sunday night to watch 2019 stars Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antoine of the Ranney School.

The Ranney School is slated to meet Newark East Side at 8:30 p.m. at Roselle (N.J.) Catholic following the game between Kentucky-bound Nick Richards and The Patrick School and Archbishop Molloy, which features 2018 stars Moses Brown and Khalid Moore and 2019 point guard Cole Anthony.

“Some schools we’re both considering,” the 6-foot-5 Lewis told ZAGSBLOG last month. “Definitely Florida, Villanova, Kentucky, those are really the top three that we’re both considering going to.”

The 6-4 Antoine is ranked No. 8 in the 2019 ESPN 25, while the 6-5 Lewis is ranked No. 16. Bob Hurley, the Naismith Hall of Fame coach of St. Anthony’s compared the duo to former Tollentine stars Adrian Autry and Brian Reese.

Chol Marial is a 7-foot-2 native of Sudan who has only been playing basketball since 2013, but he could be on his way to career in the NBA.

The cousin of current Milwaukee Bucks forward Thon Maker, Marial is currently playing at Cheshire (CT) Academy for head coach Kevin Kehoe.

“He’s probably, if this is possible, a better kid than a basketball player,” Kehoe told MyRecordJournal.com. “He’s one of the nicest, kindest young men that I’ve coached.

“As far as a basketball player, if Chol does what he’s supposed to do for the next five years, he’s probably a lottery pick in the NBA Draft. He’s long, he’s very gifted, he’s very agile. He has all the tools that you need to have to be a great player. But what’s probably more important than that, is Chol really loves the sport of basketball.”

Carmelo Anthony’s high school coach says he’s “shocked” by some of Phil Jackson’s comments regarding the Knicks star, and adds “enough is enough” when it comes to the treatment of Anthony in New York.

“I don’t know if that’s just part of the business but yeah I’m shocked at some of the stuff I’ve heard him say, and some of his Tweets,” legendary Oak Hill Academy (VA) coach Steve Smith said Thursday on The 4 Quarters Podcast. “It’s surprising because I know Melo loves his hometown and playing with the Knicks but it’s just going South right now. It’s going South fast, and I’m sure he’s not happy but he doesn’t come come across [that way]. He’s making himself proud the way he’s handling the whole situation.

“I heard everybody ripping Phil [on Wednesday] on different shows on ESPN and so forth. It’s not my place to say much but knowing Carmelo and the whole situation, it doesn’t look very good right now.”
