Kansas Watches Uncommitted Point Guard Trevon Duval

On the same day that Trae Young committed to Oklahoma, Kansas assistant Norm Roberts was at Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy to watch uncommitted point guard Trevon Duval.

Sources said Kansas had expected Young to pledge to Oklahoma over Oklahoma State and Kansas for about a month.

The 6-foot-3 Duval has taken official visits to Kansas and Duke and still plans to visit Arizona, Baylor and Seton Hall. He has set no timetable on a decision.

Kansas will lose point guard Frank Mason to graduation and junior guard Devonte’ Graham is a borderline first-round draft pick who is expected to test the waters after this season.

The projected No. 6 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com, Duval said that the process is more difficult than he thought.

“It’s still tough,” he said recently. “I thought making some visits and all of that would make things a lot easier, but it’s kind of getting tougher.”
