Texas Coach Shaka Smart Watches Mohamed Bamba

Texas coach Shaka Smart was on hand on Sunday to watch Mohamed Bamba.

The 6-foot-11 big man went for 10 points as Westtown (PA) beat Bishop McNamara, 57-40, in the Lehigh Valley Showcase at Parkland (PA) High School. Arizona-bound shooting guard Brandon Randolph led Westtown with 19 points.

Bamba, who will play in the McDonald’s All-American Game on March 29, is considering Texas along with Duke, Kentucky and Michigan.

He took an official visit to Kentucky last weekend and is slated to take one to Duke Feb. 26-28. He has already taken officials to Texas and Michigan.

He plans to commit in late March or early April.

“Yeah, definitely probably toward the end of March, early April,” he said last weekend at the Hoophall Classic. “I kind of want to get home after spring break. I kind of want to do final visits with the coaches and then make a decision after that.”
