Troy Brown Jr., the 6-foot-7 point guard/small forward from Centennial (NV) High School, committed to Oregon on Monday.
“I’m going to Oregon,” Brown told Scout.com. “That’s my final decision.”
“I love the coaching staff and the style of play fits me,” Brown explained. “One guy that has done an amazing job of recruiting me is coach [Tony] Stubblefield. He’s always been there with me. They’ve been there for a really long time. I like coach [Dana] Altman as a coach. Their defensive is amazing and the way they run it.”
Brown had taken official visits to Ohio State (Sept. 2), Alabama (Sept. 9), Oregon (Sept. 23), Kansas (Sept. 30), and Georgetown (Oct. 5). He is also considered Arizona, UNLV, and California.
Ranked the No. 3 small forward in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com, Brown joins point guard Victor Bailey and power forward Abu Kigab in Oregon’s 2017 class. Kigab plans to sign Wednesday.
