Isaiah Stokes, the 6-foot-8, 285-pound forward from IMG (FL) Academy, signed with Florida during the early signing period.
“My heart was at Florida,” Stokes told ESPN.com several days after the news broke that he had signed. “I love the plan that Coach (Mike) White has for me. Coach said he’s going to give me the opportunity to expand my game. It’s a great program and I felt like it was the best fit for me.”
Stokes chose Florida over schools such as Tennessee, Iowa State and TCU. He joins DeAundre Ballard and Chase Johnson as the third commit in the Gators’ 2017 class.
The younger brother of former Tennessee star Jarnell Stokes, Stokes is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 36 center in the Class of 2017. Jarnell played for three NBA teams but was waived by Denver on Nov. 15.
