P.J. Washington Enjoys UNLV Visit, Likely to Decide Early

P.J. Washington, the 6-foot-8 forward from Frisco, Texas and Findlay Prep (NV), enjoyed his final official visit to UNLV this weekend and is expected to decide during the NCAA early signing period.

Washington is considering Kentucky, North Carolina and UNLV, after crossing Arizona and Texas off his list.

“The UNLV visit went well,” Paul Washington Sr., the player’s father and the Findlay Prep coach said.  “They really stressed player development. The coaching staff is new but they all have significant amount of experience.

“We really like the plan they laid out for P.J. It’s a great family fit if he wants to stay close to home. At the end of the day he has three great schools to choose from.”

He earlier said P.J. would likely sign early. The NCAA early signing period runs Nov. 9-16.

“P.J. will most likely decide during the early signing period,” his dad said before the visit. “He could hold out but I think he’s ready to move forward with the process.”
