Keith Williams, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Brooklyn Bishop Loughlin, committed to Cincinnati on Tuesday.
Ranked the No. 38 shooting guard in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports.com, Williams averaged 15 points and 4.3 rebounds this summer with New Heights. Dayton and Oklahoma State were also in the mix.
“It felt like it was the perfect fit for me,” Williams said. “My playing style fits how they operate, playing hard, tough and gritty defense. And also the coaching staff are some great guys. Our relationship was very good. I felt comfortable and they prioritized me throughout the whole spring, building a great relationship with me and my parents and coaches.”
“Keith Williams is a two-way player that can attack the basket, pull up mid-range or 3-point range and on the other end guard the opponent’s best player,” said Rahme Anderson, Williams New Heights coach. “He chose Cincinnati because of of the relationship he built with coach Mick. He said coach reminded him a lot of me far as holding his players accountable and motivating them to be great.”
Williams is the third commit for Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin, joining shooting guard 6-4 shooting guard Trevor Moore and 6-8 center Eliel Nsoseme.
