Sports U Trio Visits Seton Hall; Naz Reid Hits Rutgers

Both Seton Hall and Rutgers have made a collective offer to the Sports U Class of 2018 “Fab Five” and on Thursday both New Jersey programs had players from the vaunted group on campus.

Seton Hall hosted the Hudson Catholic trio of Jahvon Quinerly, Luther Muhammad and Louis King — all of whom have been on campus several times before.

“Everything was good,” the 6-foot-8 King told SNY.tv of the open gym in which he and his teammates participated. “The message is to keep working hard and keep up the good work.”

Seton Hall on Wednesday also hosted St. Raymond’s Class of 2017 point guard Isiaah Washington.

Meantime, the 6-11 Reid on Thursday visited Rutgers following his appearance in Saturday’s Big Strick Classic. Last week, Reid told SNY.tv that Cal, Kentucky, Syracuse, Seton Hall, Kansas and UConn among those “working hard.”

At that point, the Roselle Catholic big man had no plans to take any visits soon.

“Right now I haven’t really been thinking about it, I’m thinking about finishing my summer and then I’m going to get into that,” he said. He added that he wants to visit “all” the schools “to get experience and see what’s going on during school-wise, it’s not just about basketball.”

Reid and his Sports U teammates — Quinerly, King, Muhammad and Atiba Taylor (who visited Monmouth Thursday, per Josh Newman) — hold “Fab Five” offers from several schools, including Seton Hall, Rutgers and UConn.

Asked if that was realistic, he said: “It actually can because we’re brothers on and off the court and going through anything we’re always going to be together, we’re always going to be there for each other.”

Looking ahead, Reid, Quinerly and King will all participate in the Under Armour Elite 24 game on Aug. 20 in Brooklyn.
