Nate Watson Cuts to Five, Plans Visits

Nate Watson, a 6-foot-9 Class of 2017 power forward from Bishop O’Connell (VA), has cut his list to five schools and has set up official visits.

Watson will take an unofficial to Wake Forest (Aug. 24) and officials to N.C. State (Aug. 22-23), Providence (Sept. 9-11), Maryland (Sept. 30-Oct. 2) and Miami (Oct. 7-9), his AAU coach Fred Howze told SNY.tv.

“The decision will be made after all the visits have been taken, unless he feels that one is a perfect fit after visting,” Howze said.

“He’s the best big man in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area,” Dwayne Wise, the GM of the Team Melo Basketball AAU program, told SNY.tv. “He has gone from showing flashes to now drawing double-teams.

“Coach Fred Howze, Nate’s primary AAU coach, did a great job with Nate’s off-the-court development. Nate grew from 6-4 to 6-9 in less than two years and has dominated this year in the WCAC under coach Joe Wootten.”
