Jeremiah Tilmon has committed to the University of Illinois.
“After a long recruiting process and much thought and I’m blessed to announce that I am staying home,” Tilmon tweeted Monday afternoon.
Tilmon told SNY.tv in a previous interview that Illinois was a school that had been recruiting him the longest.
“I have a great relationship with them,” Tilmon said. “They have been recruiting me since the eighth grade and they have a good program. They are just one of the schools that has been most loyal to me, through thick and thin.”
Ranked No. 29 in the class of 2017 by ESPN, the 6-foot-10 Tilmon is the third commit for the Fighting Illini, joining DeMonte Williams and Javon Pickett.
“I feel that I trust them and that’s where my heart is telling me to be,” Tilmon told Jeff Borzello of ESPN. “I feel that they believe in me and will do everything in their power to get me where I want to be. I have a great relationship with the coaches and Illinois is my home. East St. Louis is my hometown, I can’t forget where I came from.”
