Xavier’s Trevon Bluiett Withdraws from NBA Draft

Xavier sophomore Trevon Bluiett has withdrawn from the NBA Draft and will return to the Big East school for his junior season, his father told SNY.tv.

“Trevon will be returning to X for his junior year,” Reynardo Bluiett said.

The 6-foot-6 Bluiett averaged 15.1 points and 6.1 rebounds last season, and should be one of the top players in the Big East as a junior.

He worked out for the Lakers and Celtics.

His return means that Xavier should once again be one one of the top teams in the Big East and the nation. Xavier also returns Edmond Sumner, Myles Davis, JP Macura, Ra’Shid Gaston, Kaiser Gates and Sean O’Mara and adds Eddie Ekiyor, Quentin Goodin and Tyrique Jones.

The Big East lost Providence sophomore Ben Bentil to the NBA draft, and Seton Hall’s Isaiah Whitehead and Villanova’s Josh Hart are expected to announce their decisions by Wednesday’s deadline.
