Stock Rising on 2018 Forward Aundre Hyatt

Beginning Tuesday at midnight, college coaches could reach out to 2018 prospects, including Aundre Hyatt, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound sophomore small forward from White Plains (N.Y.) Archbishop Stepinac.

And reach out they did.

Coaches from Syracuse, St. John’s, Maryland, Indiana, Miami, Florida State, Xavier, Boston College, Virgina, Cal, Stanford and Iona all reached either to Hyatt directly or to his high school or AAU coach.

Hyatt, who runs with the NY Lightning on the Nike EYBL circuit, now holds offers from VCU, St. John’s, Yale, South Florida, St. Louis, UMass, La Salle, Iona and Manhattan.

Stepinac coach Pat Massaroni believes Hyatt’s ceiling is high.

“From the time we met Aundre last summer till now, he just continues to develop his game,” Massaroni previously told SNY.tv.. “He can shoot the ball at a really high level and he showed that even at 6-6 he can play with some of the bigger guys, some guys that we played against that were 6-10, 6-11 that we had him guard.

“His upside is through the roof. He’s athletic, he can shoot the ball, he can finish. The biggest thing we’re working on right now is being able to score off the dribble….Continuing to work extra hard with his back to the basket, not just from 3 feet in, but from 8 feet in. And then one of the biggest things, he’s always willing to work. He’s there early, he stays extra. As a 15-year-old sophomore, he’s got potential through the roof.

“I think right now and in July, there’s going to be a lot more offers coming.”
