GARDEN GROVE, Ca. – Nate Pierre-Louis, a three-star point guard from Roselle (N.J.) Catholic High School, says that six schools are talking to him the most.
The 6-foot-3 guard, playing with Sports U, lists Temple, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Seton Hall, SMU and UConn as the schools that are in contact with him most.
Pierre-Louis holds offers from nearly 30 schools and has taken unofficial visits to UConn and Rutgers. Back in February, he received a visit from Kansas assistant Norm Roberts.
“Each school has something different,” he said. “I like the way the coaching staffs have coached me. I like that they haven’t promised me anything.”
Pierre-Louis told SNY.tv in February that he planned to trim his list to 10 around September.
Playing with Sports U, he led the team to a 3-1 record in the third stage of the UAA circuit here. Pierre=Louis averaged 19.2 points per game during the UAA regular season, and is averaging the sixth most points per game in the 17U UA Association.
He did not mention any upcoming visits and does not have a timetable yet for when he plans on committing. UConn is emerging as the early favorite, as he has already taken two official visits.
His father has helped him throughout the process, as he said, “My dad’s been telling me, ‘Stay humble, stay hungry’. Nothing’s promised, so I have to keep working everyday. I gotta play my hardest because I never know when it could be my last game.”
