Terrance Ferguson On Official Visit to Arizona

Terrance Ferguson is taking an official visit to Arizona beginning today (Thursday), a source confirmed to SNY.tv.

Scout.com and other outlets previously reported the visit.

Arizona coach Sean Miller coached Ferguson on the USA U19 team last summer that won a gold medal at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship,

The 6-foot-7 Ferguson initially committed to Alabama on Aug. 17 after also considering Arizona, Kansas, Louisville, and North Carolina, among others.

“He’s opening back up his recruitment just based off of him losing his grandmother a month ago,” Advanced Prep International coach Ray Forsett told Scout.com. “He wants to make the right decision. He’s very much still interested in going to Alabama, but he wants to pray about it and make sure he’s making the right decision.”

Forsett said he expects Ferguson to be college-eligible.

“He’s taken classes from an approved school and we think he should be to be fine from the standpoint,” Forsett told Scout. “He’s done his part.”

Ranked the No. 2 shooting guard in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports.com, Ferguson was named to the Nike Hoop Summit and the McDonald’s All-American Game.

Arizona already has a strong recruiting class featuring guards Rawle Alkins and Kobi Simmons and forward Lauri Markkanen, who will also play in the Hoop Summit but for the World Team.

The Wildcats also remain in the mix for Prolific Prep (CA) wing Josh Jackson, who’s down to Arizona, Michigan State and Kansas.
