SPRINGFIELD, Mass.. — Here is the 16-man Hoophall All-Tournament Team which includes six newly-minted McDonald’s All-Americans.
Lonzo Ball, 6-6 Sr., Chino Hills (CA) (UCLA)
In Chino Hills’ 100-75 win over Bam Adebayo and High Point Christian Academy (N.C.), Ball went for 15 points, 11 rebounds and 22 assists, which could be a Hoophall record.
Mohamed Bamba, 6-11 Jr, Westtown (PA) (UNCOMMITTED)
The big man with the 7-foot-8 wingspan went for 13 points, 16 rebounds, 10 blocks and 3 steals in a 53-35 win over Potters’ House Christian. Westtown outscored Potters’ House 35-7 in the second half.
Brian Bowen, 6-7 Jr., La Lumiere (IN) (UNCOMMITTED)
The talented junior posted 29 points and 4 rebounds in a 62-58 OT win over St. Patrick’s.
Bruce Brown, 6-4 Sr., Vermont Academy (MIAMI)
In a 94-87 loss to Brewster Academy, the Miami-bound guard went for 37 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Brown showed out with five dunks in the game.
Hamidou Diallo, 6-5, Jr, Putnam Academy (CT) (UNCOMMITTED)
The junior posted 30 points, 27 in the second half in an offensive explosion, with 12 rebounds and 3 assists of an 89-76 win over Commonwealth Academy.
Markelle Fultz, 6-4, Sr. G, DeMatha (Md.) Catholic (WASHINGTON)
The senior guard tallied 20 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals in a 72-69 OT defeat of St. Louis Chaminade.
Mustapha Heron, 6-4 Sr., Sacred Heart (CT) (AUBURN)
The Auburn commit notched 32 points and 10 rebounds on Saturday in the loss to Foothills Christian. (He then put up 41 points on Monday at the Big Apple Basketball Invitational in a loss to Long Island Lutheran.)
Marcus Howard, Findlay Prep (NV) (UNCOMMITTED)
The two-time MVP at the Hoophall posted 22 points and 4 assists in a 73-59 win over Athlete Institute on Saturday and then had 25 points and 3 steals in a 91-67 rout of St. Benedict’s on Sunday.
Frank Jackson, 6-4, Lone Peak (UT) (DUKE)
The McDonald’s All-American went for 50 points on 16-for-39 shooting and 7-for 18 from deep and 11-for-13 from the line in Lone Peak’s 94-92 double-OT Loss to St. Francis.
TJ Leaf, 6-9 Sr., Foothills Christian (CA) (UCLA)
The UCLA signee went for 30 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in Foothills Christian’s 82-80 win over Sacred Heart.
Chaylyn Martin, 6-0 Jr., Hartford (CT) Weaver (UNCOMMITTED)
In a 76-70 win over St. Raymond’s on Saturday, Martin went for 28 points and 16 rebounds.
Kobi Simmons, St. Francis (GA) (ARIZONA)
The newly-minted Arizona commit had 34 points and 10 rebounds in St. Francis’ win over Lone Peak.
Simi Shittu, 6-8 So., Montverde (FL) Academy (UNCOMMITED)
In a 74-44 rout of Roman Catholic, the sophomore big man tallied 15 points and 4 assists. In an 81-67 win over Sierra Canyon he went for 25 and 8. Shittu was named MVP in both games.
Jayson Tatum, 6-7 Sr., Chaminade (MO) College Prep (DUKE)
In a losing effort, the McDonald’s All-American went for 40 points including 15-for-17 from the line, with 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks in the loss to DeMatha.
Taurean Thompson, 6-9 Sr., Brewster (N.H.) (UNCOMMITTED)
The uncommitted big man from New York posted 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 94-87 victory over Vermont Academy.
Jordy Tshimanga, 6-10 Sr., McDuffie School (MA) (UNCOMMITTED)
In a 69-61 win over Wilbraham & Monson, he went for 13 points , 20 rebounds and 4 blocks.
