SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — Entering his sixth season at the helm at Seton Hall, Kevin Willard will look to the biggest addition that he has made in his time in South Orange to run the show on the offensive end of the floor.
A season after garnering All-Big East Rookie Team honors, Abraham Lincoln High School product Isaiah Whitehead will direct traffic for The Hall in his sophomore season. For the 2014 McDonald’s All-American, leading the Pirates’ offense is one of many reasons why Whitehead came to Seton Hall in the first place.
One thing is for certain following a 16-15 campaign that saw the Pirates lose Sterling Gibbs and Jaren Sina, though – Seton Hall’s star-studded sophomore class has seen it all, and Willard believes they are better off because of it.

An Atlanta native ranked the No. 5 center in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports.com, Banks also had offers from Georgetown, Illinois, Purdue and Vanderbilt.
The NCAA interviewed Ohio State freshman guard JaQuan Lyle about his recruitment by Louisville, the school confirmed on Thursday.
“Yes,” Dan Wallenberg, Ohio State Associate Athletics Director for Communications, said by email. “No issue at Ohio State.”
“The NCAA already knows the answers to every question they are going to ask,” a source told SNY.tv. “[Lyle] had to tell them or he was going to get hit with the amateurism issue on benefits.”
A source also told Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com, “He told the truth.”

The NCAA is looking into allegations that came out of the book “Breaking Cardinal Rules” which maintain that former Louisville basketball player and graduate assistant Andre McGee hired strippers and prostitutes to dance for and have sex with Louisville players, recruits and, in some cases, the recruits’ fathers.
Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr., two Class of 2017 stars who are actively discussing a package, will visit Duke for Countdown to Craziness on Oct. 17.

The 6-foot-5 Trent Jr. out of Apple Valley (MN) told me in August he planned on going on some visits with his friend Carter Jr., a 6-10 power forward from Atlanta (GA) Pace Academy. He mentioned Kentucky, Duke and Ohio State as recruiting him the hardest.
Trent Jr. and Carter Jr. have discussed becoming a package deal, committing to the same school with the goal of winning in March. The two previously told SNY.tv about the idea earlier this summer during USA Basketball U16 tryouts.
