Following an official visit to Notre Dame, Jarrett Allen, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Austin (TX) St. Stephen’s Episcopal, will visit Kansas the weekend of Oct. 24 and Kentucky over Halloween weekend, he told Scout.com.

Ranked the No. 6 power forward in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports.com, Allen is down to a list of eight: Kentucky, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Texas.

As for the Notre Dame visit, Allen said he enjoyed it.

“It went really well, ” he told Scout. “The school reminds me a lot of here. It’s a good community, the program’s good. I really like coach [Mike] Brey. I think he’s a good coach, intelligent man.”

Next up is Kansas followed by Kentucky.

As for Kentucky he said, “The name speaks for themselves. They went on that 38-0 run and it’s the name. A good program and everything. They’re going to have a lot of skilled big men and I’m going to have to find my place down there.”

Stony Brook Coach Says Spurs Have Seen Jameel Warney Multiple Times

All 30 NBA teams have spoken to Stony Brook head coach Steve Pikiell about 6-foot-8 big man Jameel Warney, and the San Antonio Spurs have seen him multiple times.

“We probably had seven [NBA teams] in [Wednesday], the Lakers are coming today [Thursday],” Pikiell told SNY.tv on Thursday.

“The team that has been out the most has been the San Antonio Spurs, and that’s ironic to me because I think they do an unbelievable job and have seen him the most, probably five times. They really are intrigued by him. They love his skill set and they love his hands. He’ll have to transfer to the four spot in the league. He’s a five here for us, but he’s really a four/five guy. They love his hands, they love his ability to pass, and the more they see him they love the other things that he does, too. They’ve done their homework their most.”

NEW YORK — NBA Combines seem all the rage these days.

First Kentucky did it (twice).

Now LSU and later this month UNLV are following suit.

So, could a Big East school be next?

“Is that something I would be open to in the future? Yeah, I think it’s good publicity, I think it’s a good recruiting tool,” Georgetown coach John Thompson III told SNY.tv on Wednesday at Big East Media Day at Madison Square Garden. “But at the end of the day I think it’s good to leave the door open and let those guys [NBA scouts] come in all throughout the year.”
