Ty-Shon Alexander to Creighton

AlexanderTy-Shon Alexander, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound Class of 2017 shooting guard from Oak Hill Academy (VA), verbally committed to Creighton on Saturday.

“It fits my game,” he said of Creighton. “The school is fun and I like the staff a lot.”

Alexander said he also considered Clemson. Wake ForestĀ and Virginia Tech also offered, while Virginia and N.C. State recruited Alexander but did not offer.

“He loved the coaching staff and style of play,” Jeff McInnis, Alexander’s AAU coach, told SNY.tv. “He is a great 3-pointer shooter and they shoot the three.”

Said Oak Hill coach Steve Smith: “He’s an off guard that can score the ball off the catch or the bounce. He’s an excellent 3-point shooter with a great pull-up game. He rebounds his position and is a good on-ball defender.”

He is Creighton’s first 2017 commit.
