Jaylen Fisher to UNLV

4_979540Jaylen Fisher, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Arlington (TN) Bolton and Team Thad, committed to UNLV on Wednesday.

Ranked the No. 10 point guard in 2016 by 247Sports.com, Fisher also considered Baylor, Indiana, Memphis, Arkansas and LSU.

“UNLV was the right fit,” he told the Commercial Appeal. “I weighed the pros and cons, and just the success [UNLV] coach [Dave] Rice has developing his players. Even [the players] who aren’t going to the NBA, they’re getting better.”

He joins point guard Christian Vital and small forward Justin Jackson and Carlos Johnson in UNLV’s 2016 recruiting class.

“I don’t know much about his game,” Vital said of Fisher. “I’ve heard he is a guard who has a physical approach to the game like myself. I’ve heard he is more of a point guard right now but I don’t see any tension at all with us both co-existing. We got a good guard who has been praised on his approach to the game. That is the type of player I want on my side.”
