Dead & Company to Play Multiple Shows at MSG

deadwof5Dead & Company will play at least two shows at Madison Square Garden this fall, industry sources told SNY.tv.

In addition to the announced show on Halloween Night, the group will also play Nov. 1 and could play a third date, one source said. The Nov. 1 show will be announced after the Halloween performance is sold out.

Tickets for the Halloween show go on sale to the general public on August 14th, with an American Express pre-sale scheduled for Monday on Ticketmaster.

The group could then continue to tour for an extended period, the source said.

As previously reported, three of the Dead’s “core four” members — guitarist Bobby Weir and drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann — will play with John Mayer on guitar.  Joining the group on bass is Oteil Burbridge of The Allman Brothers Band and Aquarium Rescue Unit and Ratdog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti, who played all five Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well shows in Santa Clara, Calif., and Chicago, alongside Bruce Hornsby. Dead bassist Phil Lesh will not play in this incarnation.

The band has a skeleton Website up with only the Halloween Night show announced.
