Mustapha Heron Has a Top Five

Mustapha HeronMustapha Heron has a top five, according to his father.

“We have a list for the top five schools,” Bryan Heron told the Republican-American newspaper.

That list includes Auburn, Mississippi State, St. John’s, Marquette and Alabama.

Bryan Heron also said that Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina were also recruiting his son.

“Yes, they are recruiting him,” Heron told the paper “He liked Kentucky, and he also liked North Carolina and Duke.”

As of now, his only official visit is set for Sept. 27 to Mississippi State.

Bryan Heron played pro ball overseas with St. John’s assistant Barry Rohrssen, which keeps them strongly in the mix.

“Yes, St. John’s is in contention,” Heron told the paper, “because of Barry.”

Mustapha Heron, a 6-foot-5 2016 wing out of Sacred Heart (CT) High School, http://zagsblog.com/articles/mustapha-heron-plans-fall-commitment-says-its-very-realistic-he-and-rawle-alkins-play-together-in-college/. St. John’s is the only school actively recruiting both players.

“I think it’s very realistic but like [Alkins] said and when you talk to him, it’s whatever’s best for you,” the 6-foot-5 Heron said at the adidas Uprising All-American Camp. “If that’s the best fit for both of us then we’ll do that but it’s whatever’s best for you.”

Heron said he plans to commit in the fall.
