Set to Visit Kentucky Next Month, Kobi Simmons Talks Wildcats, Calipari

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Kobi Simmons is one of two Class of 2016 point guards offered by the University of Kentucky along with Dennis Smith Jr.

That said, Simmons will also be the first of the two to visit when he heads to Lexington for an official visit on Aug. 28.

“Cal wants me to go there, I’m one of his first targets,” Simmons said Wednesday evening at the adidas Uprising All-American Camp at LIU Post. “He offered me months ago and has made it very clear that he wants me to go there.

“Me and Cal talk pretty much every day now. It’s a strong recruitment and he just tells me he wants me. I know what they do, I know the system, I’ll have the ball in my hands and I want to try and win a national championship.”

Rawle Alkins to Visit Kentucky For Big Blue Madness

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Rawle Alkins has maintained he will not choose a college until next spring, but one place he will visit is now known.

Speaking after his opening game at the adidas Uprising All-American Camp here on Wednesday evening, the five-star shooting guard said he will visit the University of Kentucky for its Big Blue Madness on Oct. 16.

Rapper Drake has performed at Big Blue Madness in the past, which Alkins admitted was appealing.

“Calipari’s message, at the end of the day, he’s not too persuading and he’s just himself,” Alkins said. “What I like about him is, he knows his job. People want to go to his school. You get an offer from Kentucky, they’re gonna be in your top 5 no matter what, even if you’re not going there.

“His resume speaks for itself. I see what he does, he knows what I do and he just gets it done.”
