Carter Jr., Harper Lead Georgia Stars to Peach Jam Title

CJvnL_CWEAEX9QaThe Georgia Stars won the 2015 Peach Jam championship on Sunday.

Behind 34 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds from Auburn-bound guard Jared Harper and 25 points, 13 rebounds and 8 blocks from 2017 big man Wendell Carter Jr., the Stars beat Jayson Tatum and the St. Louis Eagles, 104-77, in the final.

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski and three assistants were on hand to see both Tatum — who committed to the Blue Devils on ESPNU and then had 24 points and 7 rebounds in the finals– and Carter Jr. — who said this weekend that Duke is recruiting him the hardest.

“Probably Duke, they are probably the very top school that’s working the hardest,” Carter Jr. said. “I hear from them every day, both Coach K and coach [Jeff] Capel.”

Carter Jr. also won a gold medal earlier this summer with the USA U16 team at the FIBA Americas Championship.
