Since decommitting from Virginia on June 2, 6-foot-10 Sacha Killeya-Jones has added offers from Kentucky, North Carolina and N.C. State.
As a native of Chapel Hill, N.C., the pull to North Carolina is strong but Killeya-Jones is also intrigued by the recent Kentucky offer.
“Kentucky’s one of the elite programs,” he told Ben Roberts at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va. “Coach [John] Calipari, he’s great. He’s really good at what he does. And I had a great impression of the visit. I enjoyed it a lot. My family enjoyed it. The offer was exciting. So it’s been great.”
Roberts wrote that Calipari reportedly considers Killeya-Jones in the same category as Kentucky bigs Willie Cauley-Stein, Anthony Davis and incoming Skal Labissiere, the projected No. 1 pick in 2016.
Meantime, North Carolina is the local school for Killeya-Jones.
“I live like five minutes away,” he told Roberts, “so I go down there and play pickup. It’s a good vibe.”
Virginia also remains in the mix for Killeya-Jones, the No. 11 power forward in the Class of 2016 out of Lynchburg (VA) Virginia Episcopal according to 247Sports.com
