10363410Transferring Seton Hall point guard Sterling Gibbs is headed to Ohio State following his Pittsburgh visit and will also visit UConn next week, his father told SNY.tv Thursday morning.

“He’s at Pitt right now, he’ll go to Ohio State today [Thursday],” Temple Gibbs said by phone. “I’ll meet him at Ohio State [Friday].”

Ashton Gibbs, Sterling’s older brother who played at Pitt from 2008-12, attended some of the visit with his brother, but Temple said he hadn’t spoken to them recently.

The 6-foot-2 point guard is down to Pittsburgh, Ohio State, UConn, Baylor, N.C. State and VCU.

He will visit UConn next week.

“Yeah, we have a UConn visit next week,” Temple said.

10373049Oregon has landed Villanova transfer Dylan Ennis.

The 6-foot-2 Ennis also considered Baylor and Illinois. He visited all three schools last week.

“I think Oregon was leading a little bit and today [I decided],” he said by phone. “I felt concretely that that’s where I want to be.

“On the visit, I went and saw their playing style, I talked to the coaches, talked to the players and it was the best fit fit for me as far as being a basketball player but also going into my last year and focusing on what I need to get done to make it to the next level.”

Ennis, 23, averaged 9.9 points and 3.5 assists last season at Villanova.

Oregon also adds point guard Kendall Small and shooting guard Tyler Dorsey but Ennis will have the most experience of the group.

The event runs June 27-July 5 in Crete, Greece.

Providence coach Ed Cooley will remain as an assistant, with one other assistant to be named.

Donovan took the Oklahoma City Thunder job and is no longer in the mix for the U19s. A year ago, he led the U18 team to the gold medal in the FIBA Americas Championship.

JOHN PETTYBy CHIP MILLER

LEXINGTON, Ky. — On Tuesday evening, John Petty picked up one of the most coveted offers a player can receive, an offer from Kentucky and Coach John Calipari.

Kentucky previously offered 6-6 2016 combo guard Josh Langford, who also hails from Alabama.

Petty, out of Huntsville (AL) J.O. Johnson, already held offers from Arkansas, Georgia and Texas Tech. He averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assist during the EYBL competition in Lexington. That included a 23-point, 8-rebound outing against Team Penny.
