Iowa State’s Hoiberg Expected to Take Bulls Job This Week (UPDATED)

gettyimages-466248222-e1432746657557Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg is expected to be named the new coach of the Chicago Bulls this week.

ESPN.com reported Hoiberg wil meet with the Bulls on Monday are the two sides are expected to finalize a deal.

The Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times both reported Hoiberg could be announced before Thursday’s start of the NBA Finals.

Meantime, Frank Isola of the Daily News reports the deal will be worth $25 million over five years.

Sources previously told SNY.tv that the Bulls and Hoiberg had been in touch prior to this week’s firing of Tom Thibodeau.

“It’s when we find the right guy,” Bulls GM Gar Forman said Thursday when asked the timeframe on hiring a new coach. “Whether that’s a day, a week, a month, we’re going to do what’s right for the organization”
