Samuel to Transfer From UConn

10394270Sophomore guard Terrence Samuel will transfer from UConn at the end of the current semester, the school announced on Thursday.

The 6-foot-4 Samuel, who asked for and was granted his release, averaged 3.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists last season.

Samuel told SNY.tv he had no list of schools at the moment.

“Terrence has been a player who has always given his best on the court and in the classroom,” UConn Coach Kevin Ollie said. “We thank him for his contributions to the program and wish him good luck and much success in all his future endeavors.”

Samuel appeared in 65 games (eight starts) during his two seasons with UConn.

He is the second UConn player to transfer, following freshman forward Rakim Lubin, leaving UConn with three scholarships according to the Hartford Courant.
