Wagner Adds Two Key Players Who Could Start

Carey, Michael_0Wagner coach Bashir Mason picked up two key players on Sunday who could end up starting for the Seahawks.

Brandon Rosser, a 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward from Central Arizona College, and Michael Carey (pictured), a 6-5 guard from San Jacinto (TX) College, both committed to Wagner.

Rosser, who averaged 17.2 points and 6.2 rebounds in 30 games last season, also considered North Carolina Central and Toledo.

Asked what skill set he brings, Rosser said, “I’m a big but I like the ball in my hands and getting other people involved.”

Carey is a do-it-all type guard who initially committed to Texas Tech before being deemed a non-qualifier. He considered Hofstra and Abilene Christian this time around.

“It just felt as if I was home and I felt a sense of trust with the coaching staff,” he said.

Carey averaged 10.9 points and 5.8 rebounds in 31 games last season.

“I just look at myself as a do-it-all guard who will get after it and just wants to win,” he told SNY.tv.
