Rutgers Lands Kansas State Transfer Nigel Johnson

Rutgers has landed Kansas State sophomore transfer Nigel Johnson.

The 6-foot-1 Johnson averaged 5.2 points, 1.7 assists and 1.6 rebounds last season. He will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2015-16 season.

Johnson played one season at Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Md., and also played for Rutgers head coach Eddie Jordan with DC Assault.

Johnson should add backcourt depth one he becomes eligible. He joins point guard Corey Sanders, shooting guard Justin Goode, forward Kejuan Johnson and wing Jonathan Laurent in Rutgers’ 2015 recruiting class.

Marcus Helton of DMVElite first reported the commitment.
