Chris Mullin Nabs Ace Recruiter From Iowa State

635633197459665209-OVVPFZVPCFSRRJY.20110804184451-1-NEW YORK — Chris Mullin hasn’t even had his introductory presser yet and he’s already making moves.

The new St. John’s coach scored a major coup on the coaching and recruiting front by nabbing St. John’s product and former Iowa State assistant Matt Abdelmassih to his staff.

“Extremely sad but happy to move onto the next stage in my life,” he Tweeted.

Abdelmassih was the Cyclones’ lead recruiter on Cheick Diallo, the 6-foot-9 Mcdonald’s All-American forward out of Our Savior New American. Diallo is considering Iowa State, St. John’s, Kentucky, Kansas and Pitt. He is also close with St. John’s guard Felix Balamou.

The Des Moines Register also credited Abdelmassih for recruiting Royce White, Jameel McKay, Abdel Nader, Dustin Hogue and DeAndre Kane to Iowa State.
