St. John’s head coach Steve Lavin and Iowa State assistant Matt Abdelmassih saw Cheick Diallo on Thursday at Our Savior New American, but Iowa State head coach Fred Holberg was unable to make it due to weather, sources told SNY.tv.

The 6-foot-9 Diallo is considering Iowa State, St. John’s, Kansas, Kentucky and Pitt. He is a McDonald’s and Jordan Brand All-American who is expected to announce this spring.

Kansas head coach Bill Self and assistant Norm Roberts saw Diallo on Wednesday and Pitt head coach Jamie Dixon visited on Monday.

Meantime, Evan Daniels of Scout.com reported that Self visited Charlotte graduate transfer Mike Thorne in Charlotte on Thursday, while Dixon is due in Friday.

The 6-11 Thorne, who has one year of eligibility remaining, averaged 10.1 points and 7.3 rebounds a game this past season.
