Kentucky’s Lyles Could Miss Third Straight Game at Florida

Trey-Lyles-1Kentucky coach John Calipari says freshman forward Trey Lyles could miss a third straight game Saturday at Florida with an undisclosed illness.

“As sick as he is, I don’t believe he’ll be here this weekend, but we’ll see,” Calipari said after the No. 1 Wildcats improved to 22-0 Tuesday with a 69-58 win over Georgia. “We’ll see. The kids are off Wednesday. We’ll practice Thursday. If he can’t practice Thursday, Friday, he won’t come with us, we’ll leave him here.”

He added: “Trey Lyles being out, I hope you guys understand, that hurts us.

The 6-foot-10 forward is averaging 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in 20 games with seven starts for Kentucky (21-0, 8-0).

He is projected as the No. 25 pick in the NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com.
