Arizona transfer Craig Victor is headed to LSU and will be eligible for the second semester next season.

Gregg Holmes, Victor’s AAU coach from New Orleans Elite, told SNY.tv the 6-foot-7 New Orleans native had chosen LSU over Oklahoma State.

“LSU always recruited him and he’s good with Johnny Jones,” Holmes said. “[LSU commit] Ben [Simmons] actually gave him a call and he and Ben know each other from camps. And Jarell Martin was his AAU teammate and Jarell played for me.

Calipari Watches 2016 7-Footer Isaac Humphries

Kentucky coach John Calipari braved the weather Thursday night to watch 2016 Australian 7-footer Isaac Humphries.

The big man went for 21 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks as La Lumiere (IN) beat Wasatch Academy (UT), 71-54.

“It means a lot,” La Lumiere associate head coach Brad Johnstin told SNY.tv. “We’re really appreciative that he came. It means a lot to us in the basketball program. It probably means we’re doing something right.”

Brandon Sampson Focusing on Three Schools

Brandon Sampson, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound shooting guard from Baton Rouge (LA) Madison, is now focusing on three schools after recently cutting his list to five.

Sampson, who averaged 24.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season, is down to focusing on USC, Cal and St. John’s, with LSU (which just landed shooting guard Antonio Blakeney) and UCLA out of the mix, according to Scout.com.

He said he plans to commit late.

“I’m looking for the best situation for what I want to do in college, so really just basing it off playing time and being able to play through mistakes,” he told Scout. “That’s really how I’ve been rating these schools.”

Joe Lunardi Has 8 Big East Teams in the Big Dance

If the NCAA Tournament started today, the Big East would have eight teams in the Big Dance, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.

That’s 80 percent of the league.

“I think we have eight teams in the conference good enough to get in,” Villanova coach Jay Wright said Tuesday after his team beat St. John’s at Madison Square Garden. “….This is going to be a wild conference, a lot of really good teams.”

By contrast, Lunardi has six Big 12 teams in the tournament and five apiece from the ACC and Big Ten, with four each from the Pac-12 and SEC.

Rutgers, Seton Hall, Maryland Among Those Pursuing Devonte Green

Seton Hall assistant Tiny Morton and Rutgers assistant Greg “Shoes” Vetrone saw him on Sunday, and both schools have offered, Danny Green Sr. told SNY.tv.

“We are planning to visit Rutgers and Seton Hall soon, but no dates have been set,” Danny Sr. said.

Agau also considered Marquette and Nebraska, according to ESPN.com, which previously reported the story.

“Yes, I committed to Georgetown,” Agau told SNY.tv. “I felt like with the history they had with big men my size and with my skill set, they had been very successful. I felt like I could potentially fall in that path.

“Also if I’m unfortunate enough to not play basketball after college, I feel my degree from here can go a long ways.”

The 6-foot-8 Agau averaged 0.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in three games this season.
