Brandon Ingram will have a few high-profile visitors on Tuesday.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari, UCLA assistant David Grace and N.C. State assistant Rob Moxley will watch Ingram and Kinston (N.C.) play against Wilson (N.C.) Hunt.
Ironically, Kentucky plays UCLA Saturday in Chicago.
“Shoutout to Coach Cal for making the effort to see me [Tuesday] against Wilson Hunt @ 7:30 home. Come out & support #BBN #Bruins,” Ingram Tweeted.
The 6-foot-8 Ingram is considering Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, N.C. State, Duke and UCLA and will commit late.
Meantime, Kentucky assistant Barry “Slice” Rohrssen was out West on Monday, watching 2015 7-footer Stephen Zimmerman of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, who is also considering Kansas, UCLA, Arizona and hometown UNLV.
Zimmerman Tweeted that UNLV coach Dave Rice also attended Findlay Prep practice Monday in addition to Rohrssen. Zimmerman expects to commit by late February or March and won’t sign an NLI.
Rohrssen also saw 2017 Las Vegas (NV) Centennial point guard Troy Brown and 2016 Findlay Prep point guard Derryck Thornton.
With current sophomores Andrew and Aaron Harrison expected to turn pro after this season, freshmen Devin Booker and Tyler Ulis in the pipeline and incoming guards like Isaiah Briscoe expected to depart quickly, Kentucky is on the move for future backcourt players.
